Aelterman is a family business with 80 employees located at the Kluizendok in the Ghent Canal Zone. As a prominent niche player in the construction of steel bridges, lock gates and related metal structures, the company celebrated its 70th anniversary on 1 March 2022. With an annual turnover of 25 million, the Aelterman family felt that the time had come to look for opportunities to expand. They found the right partner in Artes Group.
Artes Group and Aelterman are no strangers to each other. Both companies have combined their expertise on several occasions in challenging construction projects. Very recently, the Theunis bridges on the Albert Canal in Antwerp were completed. A very successful collaboration!
Infrastructure works are an important part of Artes Group. Today, these works are marketed as integrated projects. The execution of various disciplines within the Artes Group is an added value for our customers. The acquisition of the Aelterman company should be viewed in this context.
